Have just come to this site and am so impressed I want to proceed with my claim immediately.

I will send my DPA letter ASAP, but first can anyone tell me if charges logged against cash withdrawals from foreign country ATMs are contestable?

1, They are ridiculously extortionate and having lived abroad for the past five years, I hate to think how much cash I've lost to Barclays Bank through regular withdrawals.

2, Frequently these outlandish charges have pushed me over my overdraft limit and thus incurred me a 'statutory' charge. Double Jeopardy.

Has anyone else felt this pinch? If so, what do you make of it and where do we stand on these costly charges? Or has anyone had any success with these circumstances?

Please let me know.

Many thanks and once again, a phenomenal site worth a knighthood...as if that would ever happen.

Totally agree with SIM. In my opinion I would have opened an account overseas and transferred the money to the new account. I would never have kept using the UK account if i was abroad for a long period for work.
