OK, I started my claim yonks ago. My statements took about 2 months to come through, it took so long that once I received them I sent the 14 day letter and statements a litlle too hastily without photocopying them...my bad! Anyway, I have since received a letter declining my claim from the Andover branch about 2 months ago, I immediately sent a letter with a SAE asking for my statements (with which to make a claim in court) to be sent back to no avail. After a month of no contact I starting sending letters, faxes and attempting phone calls (permanantly engaged and I have read in forums not even a registered number). After about 20 letters and faxes and a month on still no contact! Can anyone please advise me how to actually get hold of these people as I don't fancy requesting the statements again and waiting another 2 months! I live a bit too far away from Andover to go knocking the door down otherwise I'd be there. Any ideas??? Sorry about the rambling :-)

Try 01264 345678 - Andover switchboard!

The Customer Service Recovery Centre number is 01264 832297, but from my own experience you have more chance of finding Atlantis or winning the lottery jackpot than them answering this phone!

Following my DPA Letter sent to LloydsTSB for statements dating back to 14 February 2001 (sent 12 Feb 2007), I've received the following reply today (14 Mar 2007):

Dear Sir,

Following your request for copies of statements on your account to enable you to reconcile your bank charges, I have today ordered statements going back to the date you opened your account or 1st September 2001, whichever date is the most recent.

These will be sent to you within the next five days and you may receive multiple envelopes depending on the quantity and period you have requested.

The fee of £10 for this service has been taken accordingly.

You may now wish to proceed with your claim for reimbursement of charges, but, if you do feel you need further statements, this will take longer to access our archived data. Please let me know by returning this letter in the attached pre-paid envelope and I will order them for you.

Under the terms of the Data Protection Act, we are allowed up to 40 days to fulfil your request.

Yours Sincerely

Copy Statement Unit

* Please send any remaining statements prior to 1st September 2001.

(end of letter)

How stupid is that letter?? The bank knows full well that the DPA letter I originally sent, requested statements dating back to February 2001, so why do they send this "nice but dim" letter asking what I've already told them I require?! They also know full well I opened my account with them around 15 years ago!?

It seems obvious to me that the bank is trying to use delay tactics and scrape another 40 days from now as opposed to from the original DPA letter date (12 Feb 2007). Don't join in with the delaying, diligently stick to the step by step guide!!
